NewsBreak Contributor Monetization Policy
Joining the NewsBreak Contributor Network is a significant step forward in your content creation career. As part of the NewsBreak Contributor Network, you can apply for monetization to receive money from your content, as explained further below. A key requirement for the NewsBreak Contributor Network is to follow NewsBreak’s policies, including this Contributor Monetization Policy, NewsBreak Contributor Network Terms of Service (“Terms”), NewsBreak Community Standards (“Community Standards”), NewsBreak Contributor Content Requirements (“Contributor Content Requirements”), and NewsBreak Contributor Code of Conduct (“Contributor Code of Conduct”).
This Monetization Policy is incorporated into the Terms by reference and may be amended by us from time to time.
To receive money from your content you submit to NewsBreak, you must complete the following steps:
Step 1: Apply for Monetization.
- You must register an account through the NewsBreak Contributor Network and agree to the Terms. If you are seeing this in the NewsBreak Contributor Portal, then you have already completed this action.
- You must be located in the U.S. and meet NewsBreak’s minimum eligibility requirements for monetization (the requirements being available in the NewsBreak Contributor Portal, which is subject to change), such requirements may include i) publishing a certain number of articles and videos through the NewsBreak Contributor Network that conform to our Community Standards and Contributor Content Requirements, ii) have a certain number of followers, and iii) comply with Contributor Code of Conduct.
- Once you meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you must set up a Tipalti account (a third-party payment platform) through the NewsBreak Contributor Portal and apply for monetization. After NewsBreak receives your application, our team will assess your account for approval.
- You confirm that you are applying under your individual identity and agree not to share your account with others unless expressly approved by NewsBreak. Failure to comply may result in revoked monetization privileges and potential termination.
- Once you are accepted for monetization, you must agree to a separately-distributed monetization terms.
Step 2: Receive the Payment for Qualifying Articles/Videos
- After completing Step 1, NewsBreak will pay you for Qualifying Articles/Videos (defined below), and you will be able to see your earnings and eligible articles/videos in your portal. For clarity, you will only be eligible for earnings on or after the day you are approved for monetization.
- In addition to complying with our Community Standards, Contributor Code of Conduct, Qualifying Articles/Videos shall also meet the Contributor Content Requirements (“Qualifying Articles/Videos”).
Raising Expectations for Monetization
NewsBreak has taken exhaustive efforts to improve its eligibility requirements for monetization. We are always actively working to filter out plagiarizers, imposters, spammers, ranters, and other bad actors, so that the system favors our best Contributors and encourages them to produce top-quality content. NewsBreak reserves the right to revoke monetization rights at any time, and even terminate a Contributor’s account if NewsBreak determines, in its sole discretion, that you have violated any NewsBreak terms.
- to comply with legal process;
- to enforce these Terms, our Privacy Policy, or other contracts with you, including investigation of potential violations thereof;
- to respond to claims that any Content violates the rights of third parties;
- to respond to your requests for customer service; and/or
- o protect the rights, property, or personal safety of NewsBreak, its agents and affiliates, its users, or the public. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection, and spam/malware prevention, and similar purposes.
Non-monetization Publishing Options
Even if your application to monetize your content on NewsBreak is not accepted, you may still submit articles or videos to us that comply with our Community Standards and Contributor Content Requirements. Our team will review these articles or videos and decide whether to publish them. These articles may be taken into consideration in NewsBreak’s review of your application for monetization in the future.
